For largescale commercial interior architecture projects our aim is always to design stunning interior spaces which are comfortable, light, interesting, appropriate to their context, stylish, functional and memorable.
These can be anything from country estates, to hotels, other commercial property, churches, visitor centres, and really any other buildings. Commercial interior architecture projects vary greatly. We’re happy to take them on, however substantial.
Often for commercial interior architecture projects there is a larger team of stakeholders than for a residential interior, for example. These may include land agents or estate managers as well as land owners and private clients, who may be resident overseas. On executive architecture projects we have also worked with other architects and interior designers as executive interior architects.
We have significant skills in traditional interior architecture design, as well as for more contemporary interior architecture projects. Our conservation skills and listed building knowledge – particularly for Scottish heritage buildings – are invaluable in making the right interior choices. If you want the perfect Scottish castle hotel or shooting lodge, we know not only how to make the interior space work, but also what paneling, cornicing, woodwork and plasterwork will suit the design best. Every interior must be in harmony with its surroundings and environment, and with the nature of the building being transformed or built.
For the process, we use Building Information Modelling (BIM) to integrate our information into the production drawing process, and in house CGI software to communicate our designs to all those involved.
Enabling a smooth process, no matter how largescale the interior architecture job is our priority. We are comfortable with handling building consents, contractors, and collaborating with or managing all other parties involved in a project.
